Tarnix Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
Tarnix collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no servers of our own, and the app sends no data to the developer. The only thing the game itself sends from your phone is the achievements and scores it reports to Game Center, Apple's service, if you use it. If you decide to write to me, for example through «Report a problem», I receive whatever you send. This page explains in detail what is stored, and where.
The short version
Tarnix is an iPhone game that runs on your device.
- The developer does not process any personal data about you unless you get in touch.
- If you use Game Center, Apple stores your achievements and scores under your player alias.
- There are no user accounts, no sign-up and no login.
- There is no server of our own: the game never calls one.
- There are no ads, no advertising identifier and no tracking.
- There are no in-app purchases in this version.
What is stored, and where
Your progress is saved in the app's private storage on your iPhone. Nobody else has access to those files.
- What you have unlocked in the game.
- Your gear and items.
- The state of your runs.
If you delete the app, that data goes with it.
The local run log
The game keeps a local file called runs.json with a history of up to 500 runs. It uses it to tune its own difficulty and in-game economy.
That file is never sent anywhere. It lives and dies on your phone, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Error log on your iPhone
The game keeps the last 30 lines of warnings and errors in the app's private storage. It never leaves the device unless you send it yourself in the «Report a problem» email.
Report a problem
In Settings › About Tarnix › Report a problem, the game opens your mail app with a ready-made message to support@tarnix.app. It includes the game's version and build, your iPhone model and iOS version, the language, the state of your save (for example, whether it was set aside as damaged) and up to 10 lines with the game's latest warnings and errors. In group games, those lines may include addresses on your local network. It does not include your progress or your save.
You see the whole message and decide whether to send it: the game never sends anything on its own. If you send it, I receive your email address and whatever you write, and I use them only to reply and fix the problem.
Legal basis: your consent, given by sending it. I keep it for as long as the conversation lasts and, at most, 12 months afterwards. You can ask me to delete it.
Co-op multiplayer
Co-op only works between devices on the same wifi network. The connection is direct between them and never passes through a server of ours.
While you play co-op, the devices exchange gameplay information: positions, enemies and loot. No personal data is exchanged.
Game Center
Tarnix uses Game Center, Apple's service for achievements and leaderboards. If you are signed in to Game Center on your iPhone, the game reports the achievements you unlock and your scores to Game Center.
Apple stores and manages that data, linked to your player alias and under Apple's own privacy policy. Other players may see your alias and scores on the leaderboards, depending on your Game Center settings.
Tarnix collects and sends no data of its own. The developer does not receive your Apple ID, your email address or anything else that identifies you.
If you would rather not use it, do not sign in to Game Center. You can manage it in Settings > Game Center.
Advertising and third-party SDKs
The released version of Tarnix loads no third-party SDK and no ad provider. The advertising identifier (IDFA) is not used, there is no tracking and there is no personalised advertising.
iCloud backup
If iCloud backup is turned on for your iPhone, the app's data may be included in that backup. Apple handles that backup under your own account and its own terms. The developer neither controls it nor has access to it.
Apple's statistics
Apple gives the developer aggregated, anonymous statistics about downloads and usage. If you have agreed to share crash data with developers, Apple also provides crash reports.
Apple collects and provides that information, not the app. The developer cannot identify anyone from it.
Your rights and the GDPR
While you play, the developer does not process any personal data about you. Game Center data is processed by Apple, under its own privacy policy.
If you write to support, for example through «Report a problem», I process your email address and whatever you send, only to reply and fix the problem. The legal basis is your consent, given by sending it. You can ask at any time to access, correct or delete that data by writing to support@tarnix.app, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
The support@tarnix.app mailbox is hosted on Google Workspace. Google acts as data processor and, for EU customers, contracts as Google Cloud EMEA Limited (Ireland). Data may be transferred to the United States, covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and by standard contractual clauses.
What the game stores on your phone deletes itself: remove the app and everything Tarnix had stored goes with it. If you also have iCloud backup on, manage that backup from your Apple account settings.
If you believe any of this is not the case, get in touch and it will be looked into.
Children
Tarnix is suitable for a general audience and is not specifically aimed at children under 13. The app collects no data: I only receive what someone decides to send me by email.

Changes to this policy
If how the app works changes, this page is updated and the date above changes with it. If the app ever started collecting data, it would be explained here before that happened, and noted in the release notes.
